About Us

Port Phillip Publishing is an independent financial publisher based in Melbourne, Australia. It provides contrarian investment ideas to help readers be more financially and intellectually independent - we believe you'll become smarter, wealthier and beat the market by reading our newsletters.

The company was established in 2006 as an extension of US publisher, Agora Inc. Agora, founded by best-selling author and multi-award-winning entrepreneur Bill Bonner, is one of the world's most successful publishers of financial, health and travel newsletters.

Port Phillip Publishing's readers enjoy contrarian insight into the market and investing that's hard to come by in the mainstream press. We're not beholden to advertisers. And we're prohibited by law to invest in the stocks we research. That makes Port Phillip Publishing a rare beacon of impartiality in a financial world polluted with secret deals, government double speak and hidden agendas.

Our editorial team offers clear, concise ideas, advice and criticisms on stories behind the most recent news so you can act - and potentially gain - right away.

Dan Denning

Managing Editor, Dan Denning, began his career the old-fashioned way: on the ground floor. In 2000, he became the editor of Strategic Investment - the flagship publication of US publisher, Agora Inc. Now his high-level macroeconomic and stock market forecasts are read in the Daily Reckoning by more than 500,000 investors in over 70 countries.

In September 2007 - a year before the credit crisis hit - Dan forecast the impending crash and put sell recommendations on all North American and US stocks - allowing his readers to bank collective gains of 2,816%. A year later, just before Christmas 2008, those same stocks were down 1,769%.

Dan's insightful observations and critical analysis of trends, market movements and the geo-political landscape are the hallmarks of the free daily e-letter, the Daily Reckoning. He is the author of the New York Times bestseller, The Bull Hunter and a regular contributor to London's MoneyWeek.

Kris Sayce

Our Investment Director, dubbed the 'Jeremy Clarkson of Australian finance', began as a London finance broker specialising in small-cap stock analysis on London's Alternative Investment Market - which covered everything from Kazakhstani gold miners to toy train companies.

A fully accredited advisor in shares, options, warrants and foreign-exchange investments, Kris spent several years working for a leading Australian wealth-management company before he turned up on our doorstep. Ever since, he's helped readers collect staggering gains, including 459% on Bow Energy, 388% on Bauxite Resource, 338% on McPherson's Ltd and 242% on LNG Ltd.

Kris shares his insights and passion for small-cap stocks with subscribers of Australian Small-cap Investigator, shows you how to sure-up your retirement in Australian Wealth Gameplan and espouses his critical views of the economic landscape in the free daily e-letter, Money Morning.
